Want You Back For Good?

Robbie Williams has decided he is sick of watching UFOs, growing his hair long, playing footy in LA and singing about his Rudebox...he wants to be back in Take That. But should he be allowed?
I personally think, nah. He's too billy big time and slightly odd now.
My major gripe was that he wouldn't even meet up with the boys during their documentary 'Take That For The Record', when things weren't going so well for Mark, Gary, Jason and Howard.
Now that they are bringing out some top tunes, selling out arenas etc, Robbie wants back in. Too little, too late I say Robster. It would totally change the dynamic of this man band who have sank to the depths of Celebrity Big Brother and backpacking before making it big again.
What do you think?
I had an email from Sky News asking me to debate the very important issue of should Robbie be allowed back in the band or not but I've only just checked my mails. Do you think I have missed my 5 seconds of fame?

I agree! I don't think Robbie should get back in Take That. I like them as they are now.
I was sad when he left but he went his own way and that has worked for him.
I'm so glad Take That managed to make a comeback after so many years - I had really missed them!

Hi Bec, I was sad when he left and thought it would never be the same, but then when they came back as a man band they were even better...swoon...

Gotta love the man-band!!

I do think it should be a case of "Robbie, look at what you could have won".

Surely he's too fat now to keep up with the slick, on stage moves?

Are you going to see them, CTTF? My mate went this year (i think) and said they were just wonderful.

You're right about how he only wants back in now that they are doing well again.....on the other hand, maybe they have also all now grown up and realised that falling out with each other was childish. And, it would, of course, be an amazing marketing move by all if they were to reunite. I would go to see them! (and I swore I'd never go to another Robbie gig again after the carpark at Knebworth...)

No No No... Robbie is SO not allowed back in! He should just go back to being weird and ungrateful! (Can you tell that I feel strongly about this?!). I havent seen Howard in my local Waitrose for ages.... Guess he's off too busy being famous to shop for brocolli and sprouts now!

i agree as well :-) to little to late and they are potentially better now than they have ever been and he just wants to have a piece of it i think?

I'm afraid I'm going to disagree, I think it would be brilliant to have Robbie back, maybe not for good but a guest tour at least,or one off special, fascinating to see how it would all work and would probably do the poor lost Robster the world of good. Either way I'd go and see them.

Take That are the business now.
I mean they're just the business.
They SO don't need the Robster (in fact, he probably desperately needs them)

I can't think that fans want him back either. I don't want him back and I went to see them first time around at the NEC in Birmingham and even contemplated throwing my knickers at one of them, so I am a proper fan!

(I didn't by the way . . .)

P.S. Lurch has just asked me the very same question. He knows I love Take That and I used to work in Marylebone opposite the hotel where they stayed so as soon as we saw the screaming fans all of us marketing girls would go over for cocktails in the hotel bar where they were often having a sharpener, Mark Owen was and still is my favourite. Lurch said no way to the Robster's return, 'he is using them, a cynical move and he didn't want them and made fun of them when his star was shining'. A male view...

I love this photo - wot a tramp!!!!
he should either go and find a park bench somewhere and stay on it for the rest of his life or get back into the band, his life is obviously worthless without the others Take That guys.
Tough choice, wonder what the other guys have think about it - do they get a say???

Of course, speaking as his former teacher (and colleague of his mum at the soon-to-be ex-Frodsham High School) Gary has always been the brains behind the band. Ok, he couldn't dance - but he could sing, and play and boy - could be compose! Robbie's some performer, but that's about it. Who writes his stuff?

yes. slightly odd now. i agree. he's definately had HIS five minutes.

Nope, no way, it would ruin the band. There's an award for you at mine, just writing the post now and over to get your URL MH x

Bec - I Lurve the man band...That is because I am old.
Laura - I just can't imagine him doing any of it, the ITV Take That specials?? Nah.
Jenny - I have no one who will go with me (large sob). The husband would rather pull his eyes out. And although I am a fan of Take That, I am not an obssessive one who buys their used pants off ebay and stuff. I just like them, and the title of my blog is more a homage to the old Smash Hits agony columns, signed, A confused Kajagoogoo fan etc...
Nappy Valley - Last time I went to see Robbie it felt a bit weird, I was surrounded by 30 something lads drinking beer. Not sure they would be the type to see him back in concert with Howard and co. I agree, would be fantastic marketing and would improve his solo album sales no end I suspect...
That Girl - ooh where is your local Waitrose? On popbitch (don't know if you get it) they keep saying a Take That star goes to Waitrose Ringwood. Is that near you??
Lesley - You are so right. They are better than theyhave ever been...swoooooooooon...
Blogthatmama - Of course I would LOVE to go see it if he went back for a reunion gig. Surely it couldn't live up to it though? could he still do backflips??
Tara - Why didn't you throw your knickers at them? Why would someone do that anyway? Do they throw the knickers they are wearing or do they try impress with a sexy new pair...Hmmm, interesting. Please discuss...
Bubble - Hmm, I wonder what the other boys do think? Have you heard? Have they said anything about it? I think Gary (my current fave) is very diplomatic about it actually...more pound signs he can see perhaps?
Blogthatmama - say Thanks to the Lurch for the male view. I like it.
Mom/Mum - you make me laugh. How were Oasis??
The Dott - we are toing and froing about Frodsham High currently, but I have to agree that without Gary, they would be nothing. His songs are AMAZING!!
Reluctant - I think we could be seeing him for another 5 mins do you?
MH - Thanks for the award lovely. And well done for FINALLY getting around to doing your 7s. Lazy arse.
;o)

I have to say I echo everything you write.
Too little too late Robster. Although I have 4 spare tickets for Manchester next year so it will help the hype to sell them on E-bay!

warm wishes

I may be somewhere near the Ringwood branch..! Come and join me in an afternoon's stalking. I'll provide some nibbles and alcohol just to add to the party feel! The lady who sometimes paints my (very short and flakey) nails sometimes takes her kids to the same horse riding thingy as Howard.. I don't do the horse riding thing but we could stalk anyhoo!

If he came back as a permanent he would cause the band to split a second time...
...maybe to appear and sing on some of the oldies in a concert or two...but don't take the old git back for good!!

He couldnt cope with his own success and now its sour grapes...fek off!
